Real Time with Bill Maher continues its 19th season Friday, October 22 (10:00-11:00 p.m. live ET/tape-delayed PT), with a replay at 12:05 a.m., exclusively on HBO.

This week features a one-on-one, in-person interview with Saru Jayaraman, Director of UC Berkeley's Food Labor Research Center, President of One Fair Wage, and author of One Fair Wage: Ending Subminimum Pay in America.

This week's in-studio panel discussion will include Andrew Yang, founder of the Forward Party and author of Forward: Notes on the Future of Our Democracy; and John McWhorter, newsletter opinion writer for The New York Times and author of Woke Racism: How a New Religion Has Betrayed Black America.

I will suggest you sit this one out, given they will likely be discussing McWhorter's new book, which is still not released (at least not on audible). Then again, you could watch and see what McWhorter has to say. Really up to you.

Commentary on Dave Chappelle incoming!

Should make for an interesting weekend thread.

But seriously, the man is one of my favorite writers at the Times. He's a careful thinker. His new book comes out next week, and I'm looking well forward to it. People here will probably hate it. The topics are totally up Maher's alley.

We're doing Dune on HBO Max tonight, so I'll have to catch this with morning coffee.
