Down from a high of 61%
I would assume it would rise if something gets passed.

(37,158 posts)Wingnuts who think the Republicans are too squishy.
Super-lefties who always blame the Democrats first.
Lazy cynics who pretend the problem is "the corrupt duopoly".
People who "really aren't into politics" but want to sound like they've made a decision rather than an abdication.
Feel free to add more.

(35,325 posts)trade on a 1977 Chevy Blazer with nearly the same options and paid $4700 difference. We had a COLA clause in our contract back then and our wages doubled
but didn't gain anything. Workers without a COLA suffered. My parents had moved to Florida when they retired but by 1980 had to move back they could not afford to live there by then. Their HOA went from $80 to $280. Thanks OPEC.

(11,448 posts)Government and politics work. The involved ones know about needing 60 senators to pass anything but the rest just see nothing happening. Or they see republicans doing a lot of stuff in power and wonder why we can't. They think we are weak.

(64,995 posts)...their sample methodology, the exact questions, time of day those polled were contacted (yes, that matters), & their criteria for deciding what independent means.
Without that, I can't lend credence to the notion that 20% of independents abandoned him under 1 year from the time THEY VOTED FOR HIM!

(7,811 posts)polarization work (politically). Media operating with political agendas over decades plant the seeds.
Dems are at a disadvantage politically (not morally)...trying to govern and solve problems instead of campaigning
