2. I actually believe that has been true for the last two years

It’s just a shame, if there was only some way to protect themselves……maybe some day we will have a vaccine. They have seat belts to protect them from the dangers of driving at high speed, they have Kevlar vests to protect them from gunshots, when will someone come up with a way to protect them from this terrible virus.

Sarcasm thingy added.

Anti vaccine friends and trumpers. We are friends and these conversations are full of humor and ball busting.
They insist that the percentage of un-vaccinated people dying is a lie and the election was a fraud.
I said you believed Reagan when he lied and said he would balance the budget, cut taxes, and increase defense spending.
You believed shrubs who lie about WMD.
You believed trump when he said he would build a wall and Mexico would pay for it.
But you do not believe the CDC or scientists and believe all our election officials conspired to steal the election.
They called me names.

11. If you accept that you will not change someones opinion you can have fun with it.

Friends that cannot accept having fun with it and get mad I do not go there with.
There is value in planting seeds. However you must be careful not to foul the seed bed. They will never admit that I have had influence on them.
I also told them last night that if you don't want to get vaccinated then just don't go to the hospital when you get sick. Blank stares over that statement. They should not put healthcare workers at risk because of their ignorance.

These guys are much younger than me. They were always tweaking me that we needed to cut SS and Medicare. Until I told them OK but you must start paying all the cost of educating your kids. They don't bring up that subject anymore. I won that one 100%. I do not win them all.

Good for you! Thank you for explaining what you do - it may help me in future conversations. I think it helps to have fun - something that seems so foreign to me at times.

All the idiots who are leaving their jobs because of vaccine mandates, won't be getting a new job unless they are vaccinated. Most if not all employers are saying, "Must be vaccinated in order to apply."

but they're quitting on their own to avoid a free life-saving vaccine.

I'm slightly worried about having lots of angry unemployed stupid people in our country causing trouble. We'll see. Hoping it's not too many.

15. In the grand scheme of things

Many of the unvaxed who leave or lose their jobs will find work in companies that don't require vaccinations, or become self employed. It won't be easy, but not all companies require vaccinations. Many large health systems require it, but there are places it's not mandatory. And smaller companies, under 100, aren't required to mandate them in states where it's required. Many red states don't have mandates.

From Google:
According to data from the U.S. Census Bureau, a total of 98.1 percent of companies in the U.S. employ fewer than 100 people, with companies with less than than 10 employees accounting for 78.4 percent.Sep 10, 2021

I agree that those Leo's and medical staff and teachers who are leaving shouldn't be in those positions in any case. Teachers will work at private religious schools, cops will go elsewhere, smaller departments in red states, or become security guards, nurses will go elsewhere or work home health, where smaller agencies don't require employees to be vaccinated.

Of course some will get vaccinated to keep their jobs, but not enough. Some of the ones that lose jobs may be angry, hostile, and act out. That concerns me. It's often the few that cause problems and harm. There are a lot of companies that don't require a vaccine, and they're likely not the best companies to work for, don't care about their employees or clients. That's the irony to me. They will find other jobs where the worst people are, and where the most reasonable people wouldn't want to work!
