Kyrsten Sinema Shredded for Wearing a Jean Jacket to Preside Over the Senate: Does She Think This Is a Fing Rodeo?
Arizona Democrat Kyrsten Sinema wore a jean jacket vest Tuesday to preside over the U.S. Senate.
The throwback fashion statement and well call it what it was, tacky wasnt her first questionable choice or behavior that has drawn condemnation. But the utter surprise for those expecting a more professional sartorial demeanor even from her remained.
And it came at a crossroads, as congressional Democrats closed in on a deal for a domestic spending package. Its something Sinema had previously stood in the way of, provoking anger among many of her colleagues in part because, in addition to trolling instead of engaging, she used it as part of an apparent attention-getting ploy.

(70,447 posts)Nice outfit if you were going out to a bar or on a date but to preside over the senate?
I think she has some real mental problems too.

(7,805 posts)the Dunning Krueger Effect plus an apathetic attention seeker...assumes her position give her carte blanche to do as she pleases with no regard for the "little people" who unwittingly elected a classless mean girl wannabe...a buffoon..

(35 posts)Please don't attack a women for what she wears. It misogynistic and unfair to her. Here at DU we would never attack Obama for wearing a tan suit so please don't attack Sinema for her attire.
If you want to attack her please do so on her position and voting record, not the way she appears.

(6,787 posts)calling her on her lack of respect for the Senate. She most likely chose what to wear with an agenda in mind. This makes her fair game for criticism. Criticizing clothes is not disrespectful in my opinion. Clothes are one of the first things we observe when looking at a person. We have an opinion.

(5,693 posts)It's not about criticizing Sinema's choice of attire. It's about WHERE she chooses to dress like that. There has to be some sort of (even unwritten) dress code for the Senate. It's a workplace.

(15,334 posts)Suppose she went to work in a mini-skirt with fishnet stockings? Can we talk about it then? What about men? If Mitch McConnell walked onto the Senate floor in bicycle shorts, we can't make fun of him?

(31,781 posts)And if she showed up at a meeting to present to me and my peers dressed that way -
I would pull her out of the meeting. . . And I work in the tech sector.
Obama was wearing a SUIT. Appropriate for the President.
I don't expect the female members of the Senate or House to be in pantsuits - but I do expect junior members to look to the leaders and follow suit (pardon the pun). That shit matters in the real world -I expect nothing less from people I'm paying to do their job in Washington DC.
