A Fox News article that claimed an elementary school teacher had taken children to a “gay bar” for a field trip has seen her and her family threatened and abused online.

The right-wing outlet focused a story on a school board member who accompanied the children on an annual trip to LGBT+-friendly restaurant Rosie’s Bar and Grill in Florida, appearing to try to manufacture outrage about the trip.

The knee-jerk reaction to the article saw numerous commenters pointing out the visit was an annual event and a normal part of community outreach.

I make it a point not to be amazed anymore at the level of their stupidity and depravity. They are extraordinarily illogical, disgusting, human garbage and I leave it at that.

My sig sums up my thoughts on Republicans best. It's a loose modification of Cato the Elder. Late in life, at the end of every speech he made before the Roman Senate, no matter what the topic, he ended his remarks with "Carthago delenda est!" - Carthage must be destroyed! In my mind, the fate of OUR Republic hinges on the complete destruction of the modern Republican party. That's not hyperbole. I truly believe that. American democracy will never be safe while that party exists.

As do theme parks, some swimming pools, Hell Colonial Williamsburg smells like the brewery when the conditions are right.

In elementary school we were taken IN COUNTY SCHOOL BUSES to the Phillip Morris plant just off I 95. We didn’t get a free pack of smokes but we did get a PM ink pen with supposedly a shredded $100 bill in it. That was a standard field trip for Chesterfield county schools.
