I find the whole "Lets go Brandon" crap really dumb and juvenile. It's such a dumb way for them to say what they really want to say, but in code

9. I blame Twitter & it's reliance on rigid slur dictionaries

Certain hate groups learned almost immediately how to evade twitter's filters that would otherwise get their tweet deleted or their account locked.
The stated rule - based on the enforcement filter - was that one could not say, for instance, &quot trans woman's name) is a MAN!".
But they could tweet, "this is just a man in a dress" and if flagged, the flagging would not survive the automated process b/c the specific words were not used in the specific pattern. I have no doubt this has become the standard throughout Republican/Christian Nationalist/ableist/sexist/racist communities on social media, and thus has become part of their language patterns. Perhaps even indicative of them.

4. "Dumb and juvenile" is what passes for cleverness for conservatives.

Some of my H.S. Classmates on FB express their conservative displeasure like they were still in grade school.

They found a new thing that's funny for them and that triggers the other side. It's one of those harmless things that can be easily ignored and it takes away half of their fun.

now they're making up rules to ensure that Democrats can't win elections and planning more coups after the first one failed.

with how unimportant the latest "Let's go Brandon" thing is. You are basically making my point. This is a distraction from the important topics. But it seems the right got what they wanted: Triggering the other side.

willing to die for his/her cause. Willing for OTHER people to die, of course. But deliberately sacrifice themselves - oh hell to the no. Even the dead anti-vaxxers are dead of stupidity, not conviction.

10. I disagree. They're dead out of the delusion that they were among the chosen ones.

Or that Trump & the Republican party said COVID is just the flu. That's not stupidity, as some of them are quite intelligent. It is greed, selfishness, and just plain evil. It's them deciding to take the GOP up on it's offer to give them permission to ignore social rules & traditions and sometimes even laws in return for their unquestioned devotion. Doesn't help that all this was piggy-backed onto American conservative Christian belief in being "chosen" and thus above the rest of humanity.

They willfully ignore that going unvaxxed may kill them.

Note the willfully part. In a way it very much is deliberate, they just don't believe it will happen to them.

It's highly irrational, but deliberate.

they know their chances that it won't happen to them are pretty good, and the same for most in their community. Deliberate though overall irrational to extremely irrational.

Also, trumpists are a pretty common type of person. As we're seeing to our dismay. Otoh, someone who'd fly a plane into the ground, killing himself and everyone else to make a statement, would not be a normal, typical trumpist. As they've also been displaying so far.

15. Basically agree. Most also really want a strong authoritarian leader

and hierarchical society to belong to, to take the burdens of too much freedom and responsibility off their shoulders. Democracy and our democracy's liberal values have never suited most of them. Most don't feel equality at a gut level the way we do, quite the contrary, while it's among our strongest priniciples. But that doesn't mean many wouldn't die for the beliefs people like them have.

Also, I've read that the relationship between authoritarians and the leader they commit to is an interactive one. They choose and elevate him, and he both identifies and reflects back to them what they require from their leader and requires from them unquestioning loyalty and obedience to what he wants. And many would die for him.

I'm pretty sure that referred to those who equate "Let's go Brandon" to essentially terrorism. The replies seem to agree with the quoted tweet and not the tweet posted here that commented on it.
