I'm turning off the tv
And have Pink Floyd blasting thru my house. My cat understands. Music soothes the soul n Another Brick in the Wall does it for me. Then, Dark Side of the Moon.. Im in a good place..I cannot n will not get wrapped up in the what ifs. Either we put our energies into change or we dont. Ranting n raving doesnt change a thing. Way before the 2016 election, I told my friends., were gonna repeat history with this guy..Im beyond sick I said that but even more sick with what Im seeing. Im 74..still have fight in me for my grandchildren who dont have a clue. I feel helpless but not hopeless. What can we do besides the same ol go to the polls?
Shine on you crazy diamonds...
I dont have any kids or grandchildren, and am glad since I think the future is bleak in America.
Hear something that changes their mind.
you'll be far less loaded up with input that was worthless by the next day, even if valid, still know what you need to about what matters, and be happier and better informed after spending more time exercising your distant vision and taking in what there is to see.
It's the last song on The Wall. I have seen Roger perform it twice and it is really beautiful. I like the part about the "bleeding hearts and artists make their stand....and when they've given their all, some stagger and fall after all it's not easy banging your head against some mad bugger's wall". I personally relate to it when I feel so frustrated and worn out by the "mad buggers" out there.
Finished Nick Masons book Inside Out, listened to the below, and then saw your post.
Hang in there. Weve been ok and well come out of this muck ok, too. I still believe in beauty and art and music and good people. I have faith in Gen Z, that they will correct the course.
I love the mellow-er vibe than Dogs, and its cool to see how the lyrics evolved.
Edit to add: and I love Dogs, but its too aggressive for my mood tonight.
.... to keep me informed, and usually somewhat depressed. That takes about an hour or an hour and a half a day to get caught up. I like watching TV, and I have multiple shows I keep up with. Why? Entertainment. If I did not have free will, and was forced to watch news all the time, I wouldn't just turn the TV off, I'd throw it out into the street. I have obviously not evolved as much as others here.
Like Pink Floyd, too. Not so much The Wall. I'm partial to Umma Gumma, Mettle and Dark Side.
For some reason I just got hit tonight with the doldrums but Im beyond pleased to hear from you and so appreciate the music and kind words. I will keep this thread n know youre out there with the same heart as mine. I so appreciate you and yes.. weve been in muck before n well keep fighting the good fight. Love to you..thanks so much
Just read the lyrics if you never heard The Final Cut
