(37,319 posts)to spend time with a guy who shot 3 people.
It's fine, he got off, the NRA did a good job writing the laws he was tried under. It worked in his favor. He's a wingnut star now.

(182,773 posts)He had one of the most prestigious jury consultants in the country on his team.
Most kids in his situation get a public defender who makes little from the time they spend with the defendant and almost always leads them to take a plea.

(12,363 posts)she did not drive him to the protest with the firearm, she didn't even drive him there in the first place, the firearm was stored at his friends dad's house in WI, now after the shooting, she did drive him home with the rifle in the trunk, but the actual owner was with them, so if anyone is charged, it would be the owner of the firearm, and possibly the mom, but I highly doubt that the Feds are going to go down that road.
The friend that bought the rifle is already facing Federal charges for buying the rifle for KR, as in a straw purchase which carries a pretty hefty prison sentence and fine if convicted.

(35,325 posts)there accost state lines with an AR-15. Those statements were both untrue. I would like to think
I can turn on MSNBC and CNN and hear reliable news reporting. If they stretch the truth, omit the truth
or just outright lie you can't believe anything you hear or see anymore..

(2,203 posts)Can't they freaking leave it at that.
It could have easily gone the other way for him, and most folks are petrified to think a bumbling teenage can legally tote a lethal weapon around, misuse, and then go on like some kind of celebrity. Eff that. Get your shit (i.e. laws) together, WI.
When will we ever have reasonable gun laws. Is is so past time, but why am I telling anyone here - we all know it. Just had to rant as I am fed up.

(5,164 posts)There is money to be made and more. We are going to have this sociopath shoved in our faces for a while now. I wonder if they realize he is a sociopath? They probably dont care because of the above.

(21,561 posts)we are all appalled seeing bozos like Gaetz offer him an internship, but the reality is white supremacists and the gop and people like Gaetz don't give a flying fuck about Rittenhouse, but they do see the potential for power and profit that come from attaching themselves to his right-wing-base celebrity. Rittenhouse is now a commodity to be consumed, and he'll have the world at his fingertips right up until when his usefulness is exhausted. they they will dump him into the dustbin of history and Rittenhouse will find himself in his mid to late 20s with no fucking clue how to put an actual life together.
Real life example: George Zimmerman.

(6,623 posts)Particularly, the very sharp, straight line of the right side of his face (his right, viewer's left) against the background of the man's jacket. I could be wrong.
EDIT TO ADD: I only got four unique hits on the image with a Google image search, and one is from a Russian site. Be careful, folks.

(3,626 posts)His hair was backlit in the original KR image, which looks completely wrong where the edge of his pasted image meets the man's dark coat. It looks correct on the other side of his head where in the composite shot he's backlit anyway by the bright window. It's pretty carefully done but hair edges are a very hard thing to eliminate in photoshop. There is also a hand in the lower right of the image which doesn't seem like it is connected to a body, which could be from whoever was 'shopped out of the original image. The hair is the tell though.
Edited to add: The bothersome thing about the hand at the lower right is that if you trace the arm up, it should intersect with KR's body in a way that isn't physically possible.

(61,591 posts)Kyle is dressed very differently from the others at the table. His pose looks off compared with the others. I have no expertise about what to look for, but if it turns out to be a fake photo I wouldn't be surprised.
