(312 posts)Big Bird - a yearning for the past, childhood.
Binders full of women - referring to women "if" we have women in the workforce, another yearning for an old era.
Bayonets and horses - the way wars used to be fought (yes Obama said it and it does not carry as much clout).
Backward or Back-Willard, wrong direction for the country, move the nation FORWARD, and get out the vote for Barack Obama !

(2 posts)Hey fellas
might be a stupid question, but what does this picture mean or represent? I'm curious.
(please don't bother my ignorance, its because I'm from denmark)

(149,517 posts)I can explain; this is an American joke on Romney.
The picture of Big Bird is there because Romney threatened to cut funding for PBS, our public television network. The children's program Sesame Street is part of PBS, and Big Bird is one of the stars there.
The second image shows women in binders. Romney talked about women in binders when he claimed that he searched for women to put in his government when he was governor of Massachusetts.
And the last image is about bayonets. Obama told Romney that we don't have bayonets and horses any more. This was in the last debate, when Romney claimed that our Navy was smaller than at any time since 1914 or so. Obama's remark was a real put-down for Romney.
I hope this helps!

(2 posts)Wow, thanks. I really didn't expect such a quick answer. Its probably not that easy for other countries to understand these political jokes. I wish you good luck with the upcoming election and the economic challenges that America faces, as well as Europe and the rest of the world. I do though have one more question. What does obama exactly mean by we dont have bayonettes and horses?
Peace and may the odds be ever in your favor ;-D
