She sounds like she's going to "go to the mattresses" with the parents, and hold them accountable.
The words she used, saying that she was going after them, "not in a negligible way," leads me to believe it's not simply going to be flimsy "failure to properly secure a weapon" charges.
We'll see, but I'm hopeful, based on how she was talking, that she intends to send a message, and push the envelope farther than it's been pushed in the past. In the hopes that it might prevent something like this from happening again. Or at the very least, making someone think twice before acting in such a careless way as to allow it to happen again.
