Ghislaine Maxwell was a boss who made almost impossible demands.
She ordered employees at Epsteins Palm Beach mansion to keep their eyes lowered, to not speak unless they were spoken to and to clean up and put away their sex toys, an ex-houseman testified Thursday.
No detail was too small from ensuring that every tissue box was full to checking for holes in Epsteins fence so that Maxwells Yorkie, Max, wouldnt escape.
Maxwell Epsteins former girlfriend was Epsteins number 2 and managed Epsteins households, doing most of the hiring and firing of the staff for his homes in Palm Beach, New Mexico, New York and on his private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
To help the employees remember all their daily chores, Maxwell compiled a 58-page instruction booklet that included checklists of tasks that the employees had to do every day for every room in the house.

(547 posts)It doesn't sound very different from instructions employees would get at any resort. Demeaning, yes, but that's what you do if you want to get the guests coming back.

(268,693 posts)I'm not a guest who thinks demeaning the help is part of the package. Indeed we boycott places that treat workers poorly

Not sure that it was a great idea for the prosecution to put this witness on the stand, his testimony didn't really offer much support to the charges against Maxwell and on cross he was caught lying which really impeached his credibility as a witness. Kind of reminded me of some of the Rittenhouse witnesses who were called by the prosecution and who ended up benefiting the defense.
