Some of our very best minds in terms of intellect have become just as brainwashed as those Rethugs politicians.

In the everyday man on the street, I feel it has more to do with emotions, especially fear. Being ill-informed and/or poorly raised makes people do stupid things and many of our religions are making things much worse.

On the higher economic level, is seems to be related to degree of wealth and power, but again fear is a huge driver.

Mix in most of our nation's psychopaths into the brew and that's the GOP.

But their behavior would make them all seem dumb as a box of rocks.....
