General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI have posted similar warnings before, but another seems warranted.
It is simply this: if our state and federal legal systems will not make admitted criminals pay a price for their crimes against democracy and the American people---some of the American people are bound to mete out their own messy version of justice.
I am NOT advocating this and I hope and pray it will not occur. But, damn it! People need to see some smirks wiped off some faces and a few raised middle fingers snapped backward.
PTB, if any notice this, please take it seriously. Patience in many quarters is wearing VERY thin.

(27,813 posts)I have been one of the strongest advocates for patience here - but my patience has just about run out.
I've worked in the law biz for over 35 years, and thus more aware than most how slowly the system moves, and how carefully a case must be crafted.
But there needs to be a public perception that things actually are moving ahead before the idea of "we've got to take the law into our own hands" starts looking like the only viable course of action.
No one here is advocating violence, or breaking the law - but if the PTB appear to be content with doing nothing, it could very well trigger "a messy version of justice" being pursued.

(51,584 posts)My patience is beyond "wearing thin" at this point. It seems like the GQP loves this shit and they live for it, so much for the "law and order" party. They just twist everything in a thousand directions and somehow get away with it every time. So fucking frustrating.

(36,023 posts)Fact is, it's not time to worry yet. The public is not supposed to know what's happening until it does. The fact that all enforcement parties have no leaks or announcements means that they're getting all due process ducks in a row. Just because we're frustrated, doesn't mean the enforcers aren't getting ready. The silence means things are still happening in, and will be initiated by, the Jan 6 Committee.
