Trump's January 6th Mar-A-Lago "press conference", below is what I just sent them. Contact info is available on line. Compose your own or cut and paste what I wrote, but please encourage them not to give this sociopath free air time.
"ANY network that chooses to broadcast Trump's January 6th Mar-A-Lago "press conference will be providing an open microphone and a national audience to a sociopathic MONSTER intent on destroying our democratic government and seizing absolute power. Should you be one of them, I promise to avoid your future broadcasts AND contact dozens of your largest advertisers to ask why they choose to hand money to a network unconcerned with their complicity in Trump's next coup attempt.
Just so you know."

(409 posts)And it's NOT merely because it's guaranteed to be a concentrated spew of lies from the Clementine Caligula. The question is whether or not they will overtly say that they won't because Trump lies perpetually.
The "more" is matter related to the underlying problem:
There is talk in NYC media circles of what will admittedly be a difficult uphill battle - namely, an overt push from other media companies to impel the legislative and executive branches to start calling FOX News, OANN, Sinclair, and Newsmax what they are: political media outlets as opposed to legitimate news organizations.
Google is your friend: bookmark the hundreds of examples of misinfo and disinfo emanating from each of the above. Even the right wing New York Times (there, I said it) has some factual ammunition against these outlets in the form of actual journalism (as opposed to their consistently negative coverage of Democrats, President Biden, VP HAiirs, etc. etc. etc. etc.).
I would encourage everyone to drop a note to their congresscritters and senators and tell them you expect them to take that position immediately and immediately call for the FCC to step in and intervene. I know, I know, insert your pessimistic retort here, to which I say f*** that, DO IT ANYWAY.
Sinclair and NewsCorp (FOX) in particular need not only to start losing licenses but also to be prevented from collecting fees from cable outlets. Political fake news "poutlets" should have to pay cable carriers and streaming services for their programming - as advertising. Trump's upcoming so-called "press conference" is an example of the sort of "programming" for which outlets should pay broadcasters/cable/streamers up front.

(8,814 posts)Trump is just a mouthpiece for Putin in all actuality.........
Remember how Trump was given sixty minutes every night on prime time on every major network for months and months??????
It was staged as an "update on the Corona Virus". He would proceed to talk for only two minutes on the virus and then filled the rest of the hour with his psychopathic self aggrandizing rants.........

I refuse to listen to their fake outrage, too! Listen to Chris Hayes and Rachel. Both are almost hysterical.

But there are TONS of crappy stocks worth billions
How can Tesla be worth a Trillion and Ford is worth 110B??
ProfessorGAC
(65,008 posts)I looked it up a couple week ago.
Tesla just hit $70 billion in assets, but the market cap is 14x that.
Their revenues are comparable.
Yet Walmart has over $500 billion in revenues & $320 billion in capital.
A market value 800x the free cash flow makes no sense at all.

I make money off of fluctuations of these garbage stocks. I played TSLA today as it jumped $50 for no reason, lol...
Some people say MAYBE Elon is done selling his stock and that may be the reason...
And funny you mentioned WMT
They announced a month or so ago that they'd be eating the current increased costs of shipping and such things and the stock dropped because investors were pissy that they weren't going to raise prices.

(9,953 posts)... yesterday, I thought Biden did a great job with the COVID variant and testing update. However, the CNN people were very negative. It seemed like I was watching FOX. I think they want Crooked Donald back...he's very "newsy" and more people watch. They have more to talk about... so they will cover the ex-President. They are promoting it early.
