'Outcome reached' in trial of Kim Potter, ex-officer charged in Daunte Wright's death
A Minneapolis jury reached an "outcome" on Thursday in the trial of Kim Potter, a former police officer charged with fatally shooting Daunte Wright, a Black motorist — accidentally, she's claimed, by grabbing her gun instead of a Taser.
Hennepin County Judge Regina Chu is expected to reveal the outcome — reached by a panel of two Asian Americans, one Black person and nine white people — between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. CST. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/outcome-reached-trial-kim-potter-ex-officer-charged-daunte-wrights-dea-rcna9408 I'm a betting woman so I'm going to go ahead and say hung jury. I doubt they will re try her.

1. I am leaning toward the same conclusion. Less agreement on retrial decision.

4. Can't understand why many people advocate using the Federal DoJ
To take a second bite of the proverbial Apple...

Do you think she is not guilty?

12. She was found guilty.
Some people seem to think the DoJ is a second shot at people.
Is there ANY evidence this is s Civil Rights related crime? Any? Or just a criminally negligent cop? |

maybe the Kyle tears worked.

8. It was a taped confession. "I killed him, I'm going to prison" but you are right she will walk.
She has a twin in OK, maybe some of you will remember the Betty Shelby trial? Same deal, pulled a gun instead of a taser. Shelby has been promoted to training new recruits on how to handle people who resist arrest. No kidding.

Edit: And we have a surprising verdict. Guilty! Fantastic! |

9. The question they asked the court was a huge tell.
I have no idea how she confused her gun for a taser, but as her defense attorney said, mistakes happen. 🤦♀️

20. I thought she would have shown more emotion, given her testimony.
But maybe she was resigned to reality.
I had to leave home briefly before the judge ruled — what was the reason for remanding her into custody immediately? |

than anyone else. I didn't see any remorse from Potter. She looked angry

22. Thanks.
I did hear the defense’s arguments, and they sounded pretty standard to me.
Her whole reaction, honestly, surprised me after her display on the stand the other day. She just looked — well, hard. |
