Barstool* loses college football game due to COVID. *scumbags

This is sports related but it’s important otherwise in terms of the ongoing COVID problem.
Barstool is basically the ProudBoys of the sports world.
Texas A&M couldn’t field a team for their bowl and UVa (Virginia) couldn’t travel both due to COVID levels on or around their teams. UVa was supposed to play Southern Methodist in the first Fenway Park Bowl - football on a baseball field.

Central Michigan will now play Washington State in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl on Friday, a move that allows both teams to play in a bowl game.

Both teams lost opponents to COVID-19 issues. Miami withdrew from the Sun Bowl on Sunday, sending the bowl scrambling for an opponent for the Cougars. That spot was filled by the Chippewas after their scheduled opponent, Boise State, withdrew from the Barstool Arizona Bowl on Monday.

The bowl games and respective conferences worked out an arrangement for the Sun Bowl to move forward with a game, while the Arizona Bowl became the fourth bowl game to be canceled for COVID-19 reasons.

Washington State arrived in El Paso, Texas, for the Sun Bowl on Sunday, only hours before Miami announced it would not be able to play. Central Michigan was already in Tucson, Arizona, preparing for the Arizona Bowl. In a statement, the Sun Bowl said, "Being a four-hour drive from El Paso, the Chippewas are set up logistically to make the trip and compete on Friday."

5. I Saw One Highlight On ESPN...

...where the WINNING team was now .500. They went into the game with a losing record.
The 2 teams had a combined 12 losses.
I forget which pointless bowl this was.

At least 3 Bowl games between 6-6 teams.

Rutgers at 5-7 is filling in for A&M against Wake.

or a brand of the sponsor, like "Tony the Tiger". Wikipedia gives us "Barstool Sports", a media company:

David Portnoy has described the site's topics as "sports/smut."

After a guest host noted the likeness of her name to Kim Kardashian’s, Braden joked about the very different “boards” that each woman were “riding” to achieve fame. Connor then referenced Matthew McConaughey’s Dazed and Confused character, saying, “Her 18th birthday is April 23, and the countdown is on baby, ‘cause I got my Wooderson going. ‘That’s what I like about them high-school girls.’” Connor continued, “She’s fine as hell! If she was 18, you wouldn’t be ashamed to say that she’s a little hot piece of ass.”

Blogger Jerry Thornton praised People magazine for featuring a woman convicted of having a sexual relationship with her 14-year-old student and inspiring his “Grading the Newest Sex Scandal Teacher” blogs, which rate women accused of molesting children.

In a 2010 blog post, Portnoy said that some women “deserve” to be raped: “I never condone rape, but if you’re a size 6 and you’re wearing skinny jeans you kind of deserve to be raped.”

The Huffington Post reported that Barstool defended its aptly named “blackout parties,” hosted near college campuses, in a since-deleted blog, writing, “Just to make friends with the feminists I'd like to reiterate that we don't condone rape of any kind at our Blackout Parties in mid January. However if a chick passes out that's a grey area though.” Other since-deleted posts referred to female critics of the parties as “crazy bitches” and “ugly dykes,” according to Eater Boston.

Barstool published a since-deleted blog titled “Slut Reporter Drinks Cam Newton’s Jizz,” according to ThinkProgress.

Deadspin identified since-deleted tweets in which Clancy wrote, “If I was Jewish I’d kill myself” and “Why I love Barstool: I point blank said I dont like Jews in my Xmas movie blog and the thing that has ppl angry is not liking Xmas Vacation.” Clancy has also joked that Jewish people were his “enemy.”
