Just took a drive past several big box stores, restaurants and supermarkets. There is
good news and bad news.
The good news: compared to several days ago, mask wearing has increased noticeably! The bad news: mask wearing is UP to 15%---maybe.

6. Yes. We have to swing by Costco pharmacy tomorrow & are dreading it, but at least we know...
… that you don’t get into that store without a mask.

12. Agree
Made a run to Ralph’s (Kroger). Everyone was masked up. Basically live in a 50/50 district in Orange County.
Something to ponder, we have ignorant Repubs, hell we have as many Repubs in my district and the next district as the total state of WYO. Difference is; they know their ignorant asses will get punched in the mouth. It is all they understand. |

3. I had to run to the grocery store to get a Rx. I was shocked by the
Number of unmasked people. And I live in a pretty blue area. I was really surprised the number of older, over weight and handicapped people that were walking around with out masks.
I just upped my game to KN 95's again. |

4. Depends on the neighborhood.
I made the mistake of going to the Kroger near me this week because I only needed a few items, not a full shopping, and figured it would be easier than driving 20 minutes to my regular Kroger. Big mistake! I counted fifteen unmasked and improperly masked employees and a half dozen unmasked customers. When I realized everyone ahead of me in the checkout line was unmasked, I left my cart and drove the 20 minutes to my regular store where I only saw two unmasked customers and zero unmasked employees. Even the guys who stock produce and are never masked were properly masked.
I can’t figure it out. The first store is in a more progressive neighborhood. Maybe just better management. ![]() |

5. Hadn't been the local community gym in over a year.
Has a large area with about 6 basketball courts and volleyball courts with a track around it all indoors. 5 laps to a mile.
After lunch is always the best time with fewer people working out. About 30 were there and I did my 20 laps. Most unmasked except the few very old(like me) and the 5 or 6 very young. |

7. I'd Say 70%+ Here
One thing I've noticed is that the unmasked have a smug air about them as they parade around the supermarket.
I may be imagining it, but for me, it's palpable. It was probably down to 40% before Thanksgiving. |

9. Here in New Mexico we have a 'blanket mask mandate' and some vaccine mandates
too. When I go to the store there are nearly 100% masks and distancing.

10. Did a quick shop at the market today (in MA) and
was dismayed that only about 25-30% of customers were masked. Store employees were wearing them, as required. I noted that several who were masked were also very deliberately practicing social distancing (myself included).
It needs to get better. *sigh* |

11. I live in a small gulf side town in Florida. Prior to Christmas things were pretty good.
probably 75 -80% of people were masked, sometimes more. Now, less than 20% masked. I've newly moved to the area. My friends, who have lived here for several years, tell me it's the snowbirds that have made the difference. If that is true, it seems to be, I am appalled that they would be so disrespectful of the full time residents. Do they think things are any different down here. At a Farmer's market today there were 6 or maybe 8 of us masked among a couple of hundred people. Last month I was singing the praises of my neighbors, now I'm more and more leery of going to the store or any where else.

13. your friends are 'snowing' you with the snowbird excuse
(my opinion anyway). The vast majority of people you are seeing every day - are full time residents, and probably live within 5-10 miles of the sighting. FL has a population of 22 mil - and the locals like to pretend like they all showed up in the last week or two. Just ain't so.

14. You could be right, but I'm just wondering where all these people were between November 11
(when I moved here) and about December 15th or so. Before middle of December things were pretty quiet, not nearly as many people and nearly all masked. Now lots and lots more people and mostly none masked. That my personal experience.

15. Oh, geeze, sometimes I can be really dense. Or maybe it was just too early in the morning
before my first cup of coffee. Yeah, I get it. They are Floridians, just regular residents of this little community. Yes, that makes sense to me. Sorry for the slow thinking.
