Make Trump voters very afraid, then sit back and watch them do this.

They will seek out, attack and destroy their number one enemy.

Themselves.

We are witnessing this process unfold right before our eyes. They were told to fear masks, a life saving vaccine. They were told to fear Democrats. They were told to fear a stolen election. It did not matter it was lie.

They were told to fear the free press. They were told to fear immigrants, black and brown people. The list goes on and on.

Thousands of Trump voters have killed themselves by covid. Hundreds have been arrested and destroyed their lives. Many more will follow.

Trump voters are not unique to history. People throughout history have destroyed themselves blindly following fear.

.

That fear and defensiveness leads to further irrational declines where they embrace asinine positions
without validating. They don't want to validate as that would expose their flaws and weaknesses.

But we are fearful too, and live our lives based on those fears. In our case it is prudent, or at least we think so. Maybe there are 2 types of fear being played out in different political camps.

Authoritarianism is all about getting people like "them" to direct their anger outward and attack the "other," however the other is defined.

We have been seeing some of what you're describing, let's see if it really devolves into a meltdown of the RW edifice.

"Survival of the fittest"

A lot of Trumpers are too mentally unfit to continue their existence.

Having said that, there are still a lot of them who are going to survive until Nov 2022 and Nov 2024.
There's a lot of work to be done to deal with that.

Germans were fearful in 1945. Here today, I don’t think they’re fearful. More fear might be beneficial.

The FIRST problem is that they are often uneducated and/or gullible and/or superstitious/religious to begin with so they prefer right wing media that echoes their own prejudices.

He did not wake up one day and actually care about anyone, so it must be for his own gain. His research people must have told him too many of his voters were dying and that could negatively effect him in the future.

Unresolved fear can lead to anger, since people don't like being afraid.
Unresolved anger can lead to hatred, since anger needs to find something to project it's energy toward.
Unresolved hatred can lead to violence, since hatred marginalizes that which is hated, and feels justified in lashing out.

It's a downward spiral that can cycle over and over, eventually destroying those who embrace it.
Unfortunately, the damage isn't confined to those people. It affects all of us at one level or another...it can destroy a nation if we allow it to.

The percent who were arrested is minuscule. The number who've died of COVID is significantly smaller than say, Trump's margin in the states that reported a higher count for him vs Biden.

Could be that they're even more ripe for harvest by some demagogue charlatan with a Jefferson Davis complex. We can live through this so long as they're marching in different directions. Maybe they'd get tired with the effort of maintaining their stupid gaming, grow old and forget about it.

Not that they're likely to repent the foolish excuse for "reasons", the banners under which they labor but it could be that the media will just get tired of giving them airtime and platforming their voice. You know, creating issues from nothing and pulling some actors onto some contrived set just to fill vacancies in the grueling 24/7 format. When Fox news loses its draw-power we'll be putting this securely, at least for the short term, behind us.
