Marco Rubio Gaslights America By Calling Omicron A Sore Throat And Accuses COVID Patients Of Being Hysterical

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) rang in the New Year with some anti-COVID pandering as he called Omicron “a sore throat.”

Rubio tweeted:

Omicron symptoms are mild only if a person is vaccinated and boosted, like Sen. Rubio. For those who are not vaccinated, the Omicron variant can still make them very sick and land them in the hospital. There have been scattered reports of Omicron-related deaths.

Rubio’s comments were the height of irresponsibility from a public official, The people who are getting tested for COVID aren’t hysterical. They are folks who are sick or trying to avoid getting sick after potentially being exposed over the holidays.

It is easy for a fully vaccinated hypocrite like Marco Rubio to call Omicron nothing, while people are testing positive in record numbers in Florida.

Marco Rubio feels Rep, Val Demings breathing down his neck, but has taken his right-wing pandering to a new low while gaslighting America’s COVID patients.

who probably hasn't set foot in a COVID ward to speak with health-care workers or the families they are caring for.

In the coming weeks we are going to see how much we've learned since this pandemic started. If enough of us have been vaxxed and boosted, then the death rate will look nothing like the pre-vax surges we've already experienced. Not that the M$M would catch on to the pattern and give credit to anyone in particular.

Sun Jan 2, 2022, 10:01 AM

Or has he just given up trying? Is it too hard? Is he tired of the "work"? Maybe he needs to waste his campaign money for financial planning. Could it be that there actually is a demographic that would maintain, much less, "swing" their support to a guy who comes out with junk like this? I mean just how many Floridians are, "Yeah, that's my man Rubio, where can I give more money to help his worthy cause?"

That's a lot of questions, I know, but if this guy (or any other like-wise, lazy, presumptuous and condescending candidate) wins again in 2022 it may be the biggest "kiss-off" to one's constituency, as well as the electorate in general, since the south's "chosen one's" broke away to form the CSA.

It's a mysteriously low point in an historical moment where lowness dominates the conversation. And, BTW, where's my sympathy with the poor, downtrodden refugee Cuban American community? I'm sure I put it in someplace safe but I've apparently forgotten where. Perhaps it got laid in the "thanks for enjoying and screwing with American hospitality while cashing the CIA's checks to prevent you from realizing that you're NOT returning to Cuba like neo-conquistadores any time soon", pile. Please pass the Pepto.

His words suck but he is correct about most of it. A lot of the current staffing shortage is indeed people with no symptoms staying home according to guidelines. That is why the CDC shortened the guidelines.

First, testing is pretty much worthless. Waiting hours for a test is worthless. If you have symptoms that are progressing, seek medical attention. Testing with no symptoms is worthless.

The Miami Heat test 4 times per day. They have an entire staff for the process. They tested after a game and before boarding a flight, negative. By the next morning's tests, 6 guys were positive.

Public testing is worthless. By the time you get results, you could have been exposed 10 more times. Omicron is everywhere. Now if you tell me you will test, isolate yourself from all people, wait for results, then stay isolated forever, fine. But that is not what 99.99% are doing.

Again, if you have symptoms that are getting worse and you are compromised, seek medical attention. Better off waiting 4 hours in the ER if you are getting sicker than waiting days for test results.

Now for the sore throat part, again he is rude, but correct. For vaxxed people who are relatively healthy, that is what Omicron is. Doctors say almost every single person in the hospital is both unvaxxed and already unhealthy, obese/diabetic/heart disease.

So yes we should wear masks to slow the spread and ease the burden on health care workers. We should wear masks to protect the unvaxxed and unhealthy. But in the long run we will all get Covid over and over again and get the latest vaccine that is available for each season of Covid. The only alternative would be to live as an immunocompromised person is forced to, isolated and breathing filtered air.

COVID is basically going to be another cold/flu going forward. It's never going to just go away. If you're healthy and have prior exposure+vaccinated you'll be fine and it will probably hit you like a minor cold. Everyone is getting this, and many have probably already had asymptomatic cases. Unless you live like the literal bubble boy for life you're getting exposed.

... disinformation by claiming

1. "...testing is worthless..." when its been proven by studies that even antigen home test will pick up asymptomatic and spreading. Your other paragraphs in regards to testing are wrong thinking on its face; testing works and is better than the alternative.

2. Rubio wasn't talking about vaxed people and there are tests that pick up Omicron strain now so even the unvaxed claim of "sore" throat in context is beyond uninformed. It's not the vaxed cramming hospitals now its the unvaxed and they should get tested and get the vaccine which ... to 3rd point

3. Rubio OVERALL in his stupid fuck asd tweet isn't pushing for people do the best they can do stop CV by getting vaxed, tested and NPIs he's whining about shit after he's done all of aforementioned already.
