(93 posts)California leads the way!!
rownesheck
(2,343 posts)leading the way, and in my opinion, a shining example of how a state should be run in this country. Sure they have problems, but would you rather live in Texas?
I live in Texastan and I saw a moron with a t- shirt that read, "Don't California my Texas!". That's the dipshittery we deal with out here.

(73 posts)But great nevertheless! Oregon was the first state for all mail-in and we've been using mail in ballots since 1998. And talk about leading the way, we were the first state to require bottle deposits, first to allow doctor assisted suicide and first in the marijuana legalization laws.

(7,271 posts)I used to look forward to going to the polls to cast my ballot. It was a ritual I cherished and took some measure of pride doing.
I was even a poll worker for several years. But things changed, and I whole heartily approve of this development being official.

(90,557 posts)I never did find my new polling place, but as we are only a few miles away from the County admin center and its dropbox, it was very convenient.
I have two friends who used to volunteer at the polling places retired ladies doing their bit, election after election. But once Trumps bully-boys started walking in and standing over them, it was not fun any more, and didnt feel safe, either. So they dont do it any more.
