(67,782 posts)...in NYC, we all knew he was an incompetent, and very very selfish, fool.
I was between jobs in 1978, so took a job in the backroom data center (that's what they were called back then) of a bank that handled a majority of all stock transactions.
I remember the crash of October when stocks fell more than 10% in one day.
The next morning trump was bragging how he made "millions" by buying up low priced stock at a huge profit. People were losing their retirement funds and he was bragging about taking advantage of it. That was 43 years ago.
There are so many other examples that didn't make the national news but we saw it in NYC.

New Yorkers wouldn't trust him to run a hot dog cart, and people wanted to elect him president?
