Nunes Resigns! THIS opens the door just enough to pass some bills!

With Nunes retiring the Dems just gained in the margin between between the 2 parties in the current house & there will soon be a special election to replace Hastings in FL in a safe Dem district. So with the Hastings vacancy being filled, the new Nunes vacancy pads the Dem lead

The House could pass 1,000 bills and one of two things will happen

1. They follow the idiotic "Reid" rule and never come for a vote that won't win. (Totally stupid legacy of an overrated politician). So, the opposition never had to run against a record of voting against legislation because we are scared of it getting killed by the filibuster.

2. They do vote. It dies with the filibuster vote but at least then the Rethugs will have to defend no votes to their constituents.

Either way -- until Emperor Manchin and Empress Sinema agree to remove the filibuster. Only one meaningful law that passes the House will move forward using reconciliation per year.

This is bad policy because it allows politicians to not run on their record. By not forcing people to vote on every piece of legislation that comes to the Senate form the House -- politicians on both sides can hide.

Manchin has a high voting percentage with the Dems because we are too scared to let him vote for the other side and have to explain to his constituents why he voted against roads for WV.

Put up ethanol subsidy legislation or windmills (two largest industries in Iowa) and make Grassley and Ernst explain to voters why they killed legislation that would have helped Iowans.

By refusing to look weak by losing votes, you allow the opposition to not defend decisions by allowing fear of a filibuster kill legislation.

This "I don't want to look weak as the Senate majority leader" allows the other side to block everything with absolutely zero consequences.

That statement is way tf off base.

Gtfoutta here.

I can name a whole bunch of 'over-rated do-nothing but grift off the taxpayers their whole life', Senators & Reps.
Harry Reid ain't one of them.
