I remember a former President who skipped out on a ceremony honoring Americans killed in WW1 because it was raining.

From time to time in different situations. He would always show up in Wilmington. He was very accessible. Friendly to all the folks. Never hid from the camera. Even when he was grieving. He considered himself a public servant and shared his life with the public

at the place where AF1 is based, they don't have a jetway set up like all the airports do so the POTUS doesn't have to exit into bad weather? I mean it's the home base and they are still exiting the plane like it's the 1950s. They could have it set up so he exits the plane into a secure room where the press could be and he could step up to a podium and answer a few questions if he wanted to. Seems like a worthwhile expense to me for the extra security and comfort alone.

Right now it has turned into an event where everyone is waiting for the POTUS to trip on the stairs, or have trouble with an umbrella or something.

Joint Base Andrews (JBA) is a United States military facility located in Prince George's County, Maryland. The facility is under the jurisdiction of the United States Air Force 316th Wing, Air Force District of Washington (AFDW).[2] The base was established in 2009, when Andrews Air Force Base and Naval Air Facility Washington were merged.

Besides, not sure if this is Andrews AFB, but it is an operating military airfield. No frills. 100% controlled environment. No place to hide a bomb or other nasty device.

Plus he is off the plane and can be in a secure vehicle within seconds, sure the Secret Service prefers it this way too.

The "theatre" of coming down the steps outdoors vs coming into a room is very different. I'm not speaking regarding Biden. I doubt he cares one whit about image. He's a get the work done type. But overall, politics is much about image.

Plus off the plane in the car and drive straight off the base is probably more secure.

Andrews is a transport base and there are not any terminals. Air Force One is parked out in the open when the President is going to travel for security purposes. When the President goes to Andrew's he travels via Limousine or Marine One. The motorcade stops directly in front of the stairs and Marine One lands a short distance away and then taxs over the a designated area where the President disembarks and walks a short distance to the steps of Airforce One.

I don't care who it is; if you mock them for not being perfectly abled you ARE mocking all people with the same disability.

We need to be better than that.

Trump is evil. That is enough.

Biden is fit, the right weight, healthy for his age, because he has always looked after himself.

Trump is none of that. Because he hasn't looked after himself.

But no disabilities insulted. If you feel any have been insulted, please name them.

Is it all just in your mind, I wonder?

My title was mocking TFG for not being able to walk down a dry ramp at West Point in 2020 without assistance. And making it a campaign issue. He went on and on about that episode at one of his rallies, I believe it was the one in Nebraska or OK that Herman Caine attended, caught Covid and died.

As far as I know TFG has no physical disability except he can't control his bowels due to excessive drug use over his life. He is IMO deficient socially and is a sociopath and narcissist. And is not very intelligent either, though not to the extent of having any mental disability.

He is fair game for any belittlement as far as I am concerned - by his actions he murdered over 800,000 people.

He murdered over 800,000 people.

He murdered over 800,000 people.

I cannot say that enough.

My apologies if I offended you, but I stand by what I wrote 100%.
