Moving to Texas for more freedom? Not so fast. Study ranks the state 49th in personal liberties

Moving to Texas for more freedom? Not so fast. Study ranks the state 49th in personal liberties
By Michael Karlis

“ More Texas citizens are imprisoned per capita than those of any other democracy on the planet, for example. And although only 12% of the state is African American, that demographic makes up a majority of the state’s inmates. Drug-related arrests are around the national average, but possession of fewer than two ounces of weed under the state's "harsh" cannabis laws can land violators a 180-day sentence in the county jail.‘

And yes, I'm on the 'edge' of a terrible 'red zone' - and really do NOT like it - they've still got T***P signs in their yards along with an occasional F*** Biden!

But again, those guys offer no incentive to move to Texas (although I've visited Austin and really liked it!).

And Texas is hamstrung in these categories by their Fundie factor. They don't care about the minorities being locked up.

We have a little Afghan refugee who is missing.

I actually had an online encounter with this Karen

Karen: "We need to get CPS after all the parents who allow their kids to play unsupervised"
Me: "Good luck with that, Texas just passed a Free Range Kids Law"...
Karen: "Free Range Kids Law does not apply to kids who live in apartments".

Oklahoma: APPROVED

New Mexico: APPROVED

Arkansas: APPROVED

Louisiana: APPROVED

Texas: NOPE, still in the dark ages here. That way they can still deny our freedoms and lock us up.

And the legislature has done all it could since then to keep it from being implemented in the spirit it was voted on.
