it took 7 police officers 15 minutes to restrain pandemic-denier

Last edited Wed Jan 5, 2022, 02:25 PM - Edit history (1)

Staff are attacked at Tustin vaccination site by man claiming pandemic is a hoax; suspect arrested

Jahanbani said he was punched several times before his colleague stepped between him and the assailant. The attacker knocked that coworker onto the ground and then rained punches down on him, all while calling clinic staff “murderers” and accusing them of causing the pandemic, Jahanbani said.

“You could just see the rage in his face at this point,” Jahanbani said.

Two patients who were waiting for booster shots had to help Jahanbani and the security guard in order to free the man pinned beneath the attacker. It took all five of them to hold the man down while police were summoned.

He was eventually handcuffed to a stretcher and arrested. The man was yelling and kicking, even as he was shocked with a stun gun, Jahanbani said.

“He was shouting ‘you’re a part of this too!’ at the officers,” Jahanbani said.

After a security guard asked the man to wear a mask, he became increasingly angry — claiming medical workers were complicit in a COVID-19 hoax and that "he was 'not a sheep'" — said Jahanbani, the mobile operations manager for Families Together of Orange County, where the clinic was operating in the parking lot Dec. 30.

As Jahanbani, 37, and a medical assistant approached, the man — identified by police as Thomas Apollo, 43 — launched at them, landing a blow to Jahanbani's face, he said Tuesday. The medical assistant, who declined to be identified, tried to pull Apollo back and took "a few pretty strong punches" to his head, chest and back, Jahanbani said.

The assistant ended up pinned under Apollo as he delivered punch after punch, Jahanbani said. He said it took five people — including another healthcare worker and two patients — to pry the man off. About 10 to 20 patients were at the clinic, which has seen a recent surge in demand for vaccines and tests as the Omicron variant continues to drive a rapid increase in cases, said Cassie Rossel, a spokesperson for the community healthcare center.

It took seven police officers roughly 15 minutes to restrain Apollo, who was "irate and shouting profanities," Jahanbani said.

All three produce equally lethal effects on one’s ability to discern reality as do meth or bath salts. We are now seeing the real life horrific effects, like this criminal behavior, of the rancid stew of propaganda these entities relentlessly pump out warping people’s minds and radicalizing people into a new American domestic terrorist movement that is every bit as lethal as the Covid plague is to our society and to all rational human beings.

It’s like we’re fighting a war but refuse to invest in the weapons we need that are available, and, given it’s an information war, we definitely need our own media infrastructure, if only to counter the relentless mind altering brainwashing. It would be a far better investment for the long term than 30 second political ads which are quickly forgotten and often can’t break through the years of propaganda many viewers have been conditioned by. We absolutely need to make that structural investment.

And yes there absolutely needs to be accountability in the form of prison for all those like this cretin who act out on their warped violent impulses, as well as those like Agent Orange and his handlers who orchestrate it. Otherwise it becomes the new abnormal and the danger to human life multiplies.

“This isn’t a manmade problem,” Jahanbani said. “It’s happening to humanity, and we all have to unite together against it. We all want things to go back to normal, and that’s why we’re doing this.”

The pandemic itself isn't man-made, but the lies told about it on social media, Faux News, etc., most definitely are.

Lt. Matt Nunley, a spokesperson for the Tustin Police Department, said Apollo was arrested on suspicion of battery and resisting arrest and booked into the Orange County Jail. Apollo, of Poway, was released the following day, inmate records show. Nunley declined to discuss details of the arrest or confirm eyewitness accounts.

Right wing cops are notoriously anti-vaxx when it comes to the covid vaccines, especially in conservative Orange County areas like Tustin. The Orange County Sheriff reported only a 16% vaccination rate among its officers. https://amp.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/aug/16/california-police-prison-guards-vaccination-rates

It is reported that 65% of the faux info out there is being pushed by a dozen people, all of whom have gotten quite rich for pushing alternative medicines and non-vax approach. Anyone who distrusts medical establishment needs to be equally wary of the source of their info from alt sources. Check out their net worth. They are latter day snake oil salesmen capitalizing on intellectually challenged people’s fears and ignorance. These people are guilty of crimes against humanity IMO.

NPR reported these complied by the center for countering digital hate (CCDH):

Joseph Mercola, an osteopathic physician and major proponent of “natural health”

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., the son of Robert F. Kennedy and an environmental lawyer and the founder of Children’s Health Defense

Ty and Charlene Bollinger, self-acclaimed filmmakers and founders of the docuseries The Truth about Cancer

Sherri Tenpenny, an osteopathic physician who believes vaccines cause autism

Rizza Islam, an antisemitic and anti-LGBTQ social media influencer who targets his anti-vaccine messaging to the Black community

Rashid Buttar, an osteopathic physician known for using chelation therapy for numerous conditions, including autism and cancer

Erin Elizabeth, runs an alternative health site called “Health Nut News” who has also shared antisemitic posts

Sayer Ji, the founder of GreenMedInfo, a popular alternative medicine portal

Kelly Brogan, an author of books on alternative medicine, such as Mind of Your Own

Christiane Northrup, an obstetrics and gynecology physician and author who has embraced pseudoscientific alternative medicine theories

Ben Tapper, who works as a chiropractor and founded The Wellness Pointe

Kevin Jenkins, a social epidemiologist focused on inequities in healthcare
