https://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2022/01/06/best-covid-masks/I've seen several HEPA filter inserts for these. Problem is the price. I have no idea how long the cartridges are good for. My brother is a retired asbestos removal contractor and said models made by a company called MSA are reliable and approved by OSHA.

(51,432 posts)I wonder if they are still in stock on Amazon. I only wear N95s and I recycle them a lot. They're very tight, which is a good thing.

(36,149 posts)Have to go to the local hospital today for bloodwork and then to the local VA clinic this afternoon for my booster and I'll be wearing an N95 mask . A different respirator for each stop. Then I can hunker down at home for sometime.

Put it on, go into a store and dont stay there very long, she said. Once you go into a store and you know youre gonna be there for more than a couple minutes, youve got to wear a respirator."

People are tuning out no matter what, I see less people masked in the grocery store than ever.

And Id course hanging a baby isnt the same as trying to avoid dying a miserable death, but the point is they are both very effective at preventing something you dont want to happen.

(36,149 posts)Birth control reduces the chances of unwanted pregnancies. Seat belts reduce the chance of being killed in a car accident and wearing masks reduces the chances of contracting COVID.
"but the point is they are both very effective at preventing something you dont want to happen."
We basically agree but I argue that wearing a mask does not "prevent". It only reduces the chances.

Before buying I go to the NIOSH web site and verify approval of the N95's we buy.
