White House to ship free at-home Covid tests via USPS, finalizes first contracts

WASHINGTON — The White House plans to ship the 500 million free at-home Covid tests President Joe Biden has promised to make available to all Americans via the Postal Service, and has finalized its first contracts related to the tests.

"We are actively finalizing the details of the distribution mechanism, including a website as we've talked about. I would expect us to provide those details next week, and yes, these tests will be sent out through the mail," deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters Friday. "What I can say is, last night we issued out our first letter award to provide tests toward this half a billion.”

The Biden administration finalized the first contract Thursday related to the delivery of the at-home Covid tests worth $51.6 million to Goldbelt Security in Newport News, Va., which will be funded by the American Rescue Plan passed last spring, the Department of Defense said in a statement. The Pentagon did not announce how many tests would be delivered as part of the contract or how long they would take to arrive.

On Friday night, the Defense Department announced a second contract with a California company called Revival Health Inc. "to procure 13.3 million over-the-counter COVID-19 test kits." The Pentagon did not specify how much the company would be paid.

On Mon Jake Tapper was complaining that they weren’t in our hands already. He said Biden promised Jan and it was January. Everything is scrutinizing every word or going for a gotcha answer.

...credit the name Biden with so much as a thumbs up.

In fact just the other day, along with their online following screaming repeats at Biden for not giving everyone 'free masks', their #1 spokepeople & influencers sat before the camera stating that old campaign slogan script, "There's No difference between Democrats & Republicans"

Then maybe wipe that D from your name & leave our Party.

What a stupid vapid statement.

Yes. Media messaging influencers.
Their agenda is clear.

De Santis won't be able to keep the Covid tests from us and then let them expire.

On the other hand, I'm imaging the mailbags of the men and women who deliver the mail to my front door.
Glad that I have "informed delivery" from the USPS.

Maybe he can avoid sending any to Florida by telling DeathSantis that they can just use those expired ones he has in stock. After all Covid is supposed to be a "flu" isn't it? So an expired test shouldn't really be a big deal?

Ordered it on Tuesday, the 18th, and the "projected delivery date" was supposed to be this coming Thursday.

Thank you, President Biden!

However, I made the mistake of bragging about this delivery to some acquaintences over lunch, and one of them got really snarky about it:
"How many test kits to a shipment?"
"Four."
"Why a limit of four?"
"They had to set a limit, otherwise some people would overstock, and then try to sell them on E-Bay or social media."
"So, what's a family of five supposed to do?"
I told her that the parents can continue to hunt for more kits at retail pharmacies.

She changed the subject, but only after mentioning that both she and her husband had ordered kits through USPS, and the husband might have used his business address to get around the limit. (They are a child-less couple).

Grifters gotta grift!
