https://politicalwire.com/2022/01/09/biden-comes-out-swinging-against-republicans/President Biden has begun his second year in office by lashing out at Republicans, embracing forceful new attacks meant to define a choice for voters between Mr. Bidens Democrats and a Republican Party still under the thumb of former President Donald Trump, the New York Times reports.
The sharp tone comes as Mr. Biden seeks to jump-start his agenda, which has largely stalled in Congress. And with midterm elections looming at the end of the year, the president faces a challenge that he has largely avoided so far: drawing Mr. Trump and other Republican leaders into a more direct clash of ideas.
Bravo Biden

(8,049 posts)I want to see ALL the democratic candidates pounding this line as we move to the primaries. The American people appreciate THE TRUTH, in spite of faux nooz. They need to know that we AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE have been hampered by the republican party dirty tricks and sabotage at every turn.

Politics is a gunfight. You don't bring a knife to a gunfight.
You can't appeal to intelligence. Intelligence dies in the face of emotional responses. And red meat dog whistles are the ultimate in getting that emotional response.

(8,361 posts)not waiting for Manchin and Sinema, never mind the obstructionists GOP. He is writing executive orders. There are some actions the conservative courts may try to stop and this is not enough BUT, it is really important and places the country in the right direction.
The most interesting thing about President Biden's executive order on federal government emissions isn't the headline goal net zero in three decades but rather the interim targets.
Catch up fast: Biden yesterday issued a wide-ranging order on federal climate goals and clean technology procurement targets.
Goals include 100% carbon-free power in federal operations by 2030, 100% of the government's vehicle fleet purchases to be zero emissions by 2035 (with an earlier date, 2027, for light-duty vehicles), and a 50% reduction in building emissions by 2032
