Too much absurdity and not enough reflection. The Republican's Achille's Heel.

At one time it was their strength. They just kept throwing us into one chaotic situation after the other, and no one had time to stop and analyze each absurd situation before we were faced with the next nonsensical scenario. Of course, what they were doing was creating distractions to keep us from solid ground to hold them accountable. And then, Covid outsmarted them.

Ron De Santis is a great example. He's on record telling people to trust him, that Covid would be over by the Fall of 2021. Which is why he allowed Florida to let their guard down. Covid testing was intentionally sabotaged as if lowering the number of Covid cases on paper would have an effect on the real cases. What it did was lull everyone into a false sense of security.

Tests expired, unused, because testing was against De Santis objective. This was a direct result from his false assurances that everything was okay in Florida.

But, this is not what happens in the real world. Omicron would surface as if to intentionally teach De Santis' a lesson. Not only would numbers soar in Florida, but the unexpected happened: This bug was targeting children. Why is no one throwing this in the faces of Republicans? One of the reasons they scoffed at Covid concerns was due to the assumption that it was an old person's virus. And we know how they feel about old people when it comes to expending public resources. They think that it's the old peoples' duty to die.

I just don't understand how this incompetent individual, managed to convince everyone that he had management skills. Unless you reach the conclusion that Republicans border on sociopathic; and genocide is an acceptable option for them.

Their voters aren't interested in mundane things like management skills. They want a guy who will say all the right things, punch the right buttons, and take the fight to The Enemy*

*"The Enemy" being us, or at least the fantasy character version of us that lives in their bile-drunk heads.

Because from Rick Scott, to Rubio, Florida is a lab where the right wing sharpens it's blade. The sort of things that might not be said publicly, even in the rest of Dixie, are literally SHOUTED on Talk radio. To a large part it is because Florida is made of a mix of people, ranging from the self described "crackers" who cherish the days when black people were Lynched, and social services were nothign that could not fit in a shack, to the worst of the New Yorkers that got those pensions from Yankee UNION labor, bought a house they could never afford up north have the gall to make sure that nothing that even smells like a wage increase or union is allowed. The billionaires LOVE this, so they vomit money into the ads. The churches LOVE this, so they preach the GOP right from the pulpit.

"Unless you reach the conclusion that Republicans border on sociopathic; and genocide is an acceptable option for them."

I think that sums it up.
