If you don't want to get rid of the filibuster and you're so interested in consensus, why not...

change the rules the OTHER way?

Require EVERYTHING, every action in the Senate, to need 60 votes? No simple-majority vote for anything? No "why do we need 60 votes but Republicans need 51?"... Every action and procedure will need 60.

Try it on for a couple of years, you know, see how it fits.

If they did as you suggested, that would also then be extended for all nominations, treaties, and end the use of reconciliation.
