Several charges of Seditious Conspiracy against people who were planning the insurrection seem like SOMETHING to me, somehow. I guess the DOJ has been working on this all along. I guess it's busy investigating stuff about 1/6/21. Who knew?
Well, nobody knew. Nobody also knew that it wasn't doing anything. Plenty of people, though, were happy to tell us that the DOJ was sitting on its hands and doing nothing. They didn't know that was true, but they said it anyhow.
Others of us said, "Wait and see what the DOJ does. It all takes time."
I think we understand now that the DOJ has been doing its job, quietly and without announcing stuff out of turn. I hope we understand that, anyhow.
What will the DOJ do next? As I have said many other times, "I don't know yet." That does not mean that I think or believe that the DOJ is doing NOTHING. It just means that I don't know what it is doing yet.

(146,286 posts)Why would that be anyone's conclusion after these arrests? Just the beginning, I'm thinking. But, as always, I don't know what the DOJ's plans are, nor what the next steps will be. Neither does anyone else who doesn't work there.

but I don't want to hear that I shouldn't want more to happen just because of this arrest.
That I can't voice that there is still work needed by Garland and the DOJ.
MineralMan
(146,286 posts)There is no evidence of that. What makes you think I'm OK with just this? I assure you that I am not, and that I expect more to come. As AG Garland said, they are working from the bottom up. That's how it works.
Why would I think it ends with these arrests and charges? Why would you think that?

(33,570 posts)and my post was a trap.
Because my response is why do I and others get push back when we simply say we want to see Garland go after the higher ups and will continue to say we will not be satisfied if we don't see that.
We can still comment about this, even if we don't know exactly everything that is happening at the DOJ.
When I say I want Trump and all the guilty Repugs see justice, I don't think the answer is stand back and shut up until something happens.

(50,949 posts)The eternal pushback and villification of those who dare to voice this sentiment are absurd.
Very well said. Thank you.
