What you could do is just print up some white labels that say, "Stupid people think", cut them down to the exact same size as the original sticker, and stick it right above it. Or maybe, "Only stupid people think". Or if you want to get a little more wordy, "People who don't understand how gas prices work think".

Whenever I see them, I peel them off and throw them away, content knowing that some dummy wasted their money on something that got thrown in the trash and made no impact.
