Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI have begun reading "Unthinkable" by Jamie Raskin.
I have already cried, twice.
It is beautifully written in a style as if he sitting next to you telling you his story.
Just wanted to encourage others to also read it.

(8,196 posts)I was afraid it would be too traumatic to read, especially because I've lost a loved one to suicide, but so far it is inspiring and surprisingly uplifting because of Raskin's own moral center and his love of family and public service.
The early section on his first political campaign is a great lesson in political organizing, too. One of my best friends is running for state senate and I'll be recommending this to him, too. (As if he has any time to read right now.)

I also find his resilience inspiring. Raskin possesses extraordinary leadership skills. He knows how smart he is but at the same time is a study in humility.
I think it was very brave of him to write this book.
