Is the Biden team looking too much at the polls?

Are the low poll numbers creating a panic within the circle of advisers?

In my opinion, they should not devote so much time to responding to the polls. They have a message for America and should not allow themselves to be painted by the Republicans and the media.

He did not inherit a rose garden. He has been doing all that anyone could ask under the circumstances. To his credit, he was able to get millions and millions of Americans to volunteer for the vaccine. It is not his fault that so many chose to not take it. (That could be laid at the disinformation and misinformation from the other side).

He has got the economy back on track, notwithstanding the high inflation rate. The breakdown of the supply chain and the pent-up demand from the lockdowns is more to blame for that than Joe Biden. Most folks understand that, even though the President gets the blame or credit for the economy. It is a two-edged sword.

Also, he was able to get passed an infrastructure bill that the former guy only talked about for four years. That is an achievement.

Most importantly, he is trying to save democracy in America. It was left in shambles after the insurrection and four years of Donald Trump.

In my opinion, these are the facts his inner circle should be concerned with, rather than poll numbers.

And like the post above Bears Ears/Grand Staircase Escalante both were areas that TFG had pulled protections
for.

3. You mention inflation like it is a trifling side effect easily dealt with.

Inflation, if it persists at this level, is a catastrophe in the making for us. If inflation is close to the current levels this summer, it will wipe us out of the elections in November.

It’s one of the reasons i think the Biden Admin is trying to get everything done right now. As opposed to having a well thought out process and getting support lined up in advance of major bill initiatives.

5. But there is not a whole lot the President can do about it.

Except to be honest with the voters.

I remember how they used "inflation" against Jimmy Carter. It was devastating.

and force them to go local. Local Dems at least in my area are not confident after the 2020 state and House slippage. They need some urging, some fresh legs, some communication between one another. That's what happens after a disappointing election, everyone tires of dealing with it and goes silent. Fundraising is not enough. Text networks, outreach, issues are just as important. Voters operate in the non-activist media world, so FauxNews gets magnified.

6. He needs to look at issue polls

People overwhelmingly support Medicare negotiating drug prices, legalizing Marijuana, raising minimum wage ( although not to $15), action on Climate Change, abolishing private prisons, abolishing gerrymandering, background checks for guns - the list goes on. And yet we can’t get a bill together on any of this.

They look too much at horse race polls and when they turn bad they always assume they need to turtle up and stop doing anything.

So why not raise it to $8 or $9 or $10? Alot of people here would scoff at $8, but that's a 10% increase. And sure, $8 is definitely not a living wage, but there's no way $15 is passing. Forget about it. To your actual question of what it should be - I'm definitely not qualified to answer that!

Unless he can't. Does he need congress to change it? Good luck with that!

All the blue states have higher amounts but if he was able to raise would help the red states to think more highly of him.

Many members of Congress would agree to $8 or whatever in exchange for people giving up on $15/hr but hey, what do I know? I’m just some yahoo behind a keyboard.

Joe's message for America:
I did not inherit a rose garden.
Despite deliberate defeated republican disinformation campaigns,
millions and millions of Americans
volunteered for the vaccine.
The economy back on track
from the lockdowns
the pent-up demand
The breakdown of the
Justin Thyme supply chain
Joe passed an infrastructure bill
he is trying to save democracy in America
left in shambles after an insurrection.
