Toward the end of the COVID-19 shutdown in mid-2020, I bumped into an acquaintance out on a walk. This man said he had been very sick Christmas week 2019 with something his doctor simply called "the gunk." He had an antibody test done 6 months out from his illness and his doctor was shocked by his high level of antibodies to COVID-19. Yup, he had it in December 2019 and thinks he got it from an old buddy he got together with who was a world traveler.

no one knew what the hell was going on. I was with him day and night in the ICU until they put me out on March 14. He died one month later without anyone being there with him. I was devastated and still suffering from feeling s of guilt because I had to leave him. We had been married and inseparable for 51 years. I am still not over it. He was the best ...

For most of January a co-worker had "walking pneumonia," her husband had a "sinus infection" and their daughter was not diagnosed with anything - but had the lesions which were part of the disease in children at least in the initial variation.

Once a week, during the entire time she as sick, I sat directly across the table from her for 1 hour.

Several months later, during her routine scans for metastasis, the doctors noticed the characteristic "broken glass," and she tested positive for antibodies. Don't know if her family was tested - but they were all three sick at the same time with symptoms which matched.
