Heard the one about the 30 day abortion ban in Oklahoma?

State senator Greg Treat prefiled legislation that would ban abortion after 30 days.

You read that right.

30 days.

They're just playing in our faces now. Absolutely ridiculous.

That would be an embryo, by definition. Not in any way 'viable'. sinkingfeeling Jan 2022 #6

Section 1-732. A. No person shall perform or induce an
abortion upon a pregnant woman after such time as her unborn child
has become viable if more than thirty (30) days have elapsed since
the probable beginning of the last menstrual period of the pregnant
woman, based upon either information provided by her or by an
examination by her attending physician, unless such abortion is
necessary to prevent the death of the pregnant woman or to prevent
impairment to her health.

Thanks for providing that.

I wonder if "viable" is defined by the legislation. Could be taken to mean the phantomic "fetal heartbeat" or could be taken to mean third trimester. But then the 30 day thing is meaningless.

So, if we take it as 30 days after commencement of last menstrual period, this is a total abortion ban. Especially since it is not even "30 days after a missed menstrual period is noticeable", but even that would effectively be an abortion ban.

Of course, it is all just meddling in women's bodies for the sake of generating outrage among RepubliQonned voters.

Men who know nothing about women's cycles should stop writing legislation that will never apply to men.

Never mind the women with 31 day cycles.

Sure, the right to bear arms is enshrined in the Constitution....so is the right to an Abortion.
