didn't stop her from texting and driving off a bridge. Seatbelts are just a conspiracy for car companies to charge higher prices.

There is air everywhere. Why do we need bags of it in our car? Air bags don't stop you from crashing your car you sheep.

Democrats are constantly under attack by real "too far left-ers."

The kind of LW radicals who have "sads" whenever Democrats accomplish what 81 MILLION voters elected us to do.

The kind who think Democrats are fucking Republicans, we're so NOT "too far left."

It's an election year. The MSM are smearing Democrats as too far left to elect Republicans to serve their owners.

The USUAL.

News media is a for-profit enterprise driven by consumer demand. If they are pushing a particular narrative, it is probably because that particular narrative sells. If it sells, it stands to reason the people buying it are already disposed to believe the narrative.

Why?

Someone ought to look into that.

Republicans and smear Democrats. Just look at the records of the NYT, AP, and CNN, for a few of the major agents. This is PROVEN. Many independent observers and organizations study and measure these things (complete with charts, tables, percentage comparisons, etc). Some of the studies are published and part of the public record.

It's obvious and unmistakable, though, over time to anyone who notices the many, continual discrepancies between fact and reporting. And who the deceits favor and don't. When corrupt media, commercial and factional operatives', pulling one direction are basically the only sources, of course most discrepancies are lacking.

Is this phenomenon orchestrated from the top-down (with the news informing the biases of the public), or a natural process originating from the bottom-up (the demands of the public informing the narrative sold by the news)?

Honestly, I'm inclined to believe it is the latter.

of our government then? We know some are definitely in favor; does that mean they're also behind it, and in front?

Was the traditional conservative belief that government's function included protecting what was proven to work, including belief in living wages and the need for regulation of business and labor laws, a problem for the people then -- not for the newly developing centimillionaire and billionaire classes that own most of the MSM?

Has 40 years of flow of the nation's wealth and power away from the people into the hands of the 0.1% been not just a phenomenon powered by the people, bottom up, but one responding solely to undirected demand from the bottom?

I know that's not what you were suggesting, but what most of the MSM have been doing is part of a bigger picture. The press are so intrinsic to the function of democracy that our founding fathers wrote their operation into the constitution. Every successful revolution at some point includes getting control of the press. Presumably that would include one developing over 40 years, as well as those plotted for only 4 years or weeks.

I'm guessing those actually doing the plotting learned from the great failures of the 1930s and 40s when a shocked and fed up people were able to unite to take control of a failing economy away from the wealthy and create a "new deal" that worked for them.

Divide and conquer. How to do that...?

for this country NOT to move too far to the left. "They" seem to have no issues, however, with it moving too far to the right.
