Many years ago - before "Karen" was a thing - I witnessed a middle-aged woman chewing out two young gay teens from the local high school. The boys were on a date and were holding hands. We were in a burger joint. The lady tried to spit on the kids, but her mouth was too dry and nothing came out - due to her elevated adrenaline and nervousness, I assumed.

Anyway, I quickly walked up to her and confronted her and was within a half breath of grabbing her and dragging her out of the restaurant. I was so enraged that my vision was foggy. Fortunately, I had the ability to stop myself from touching her in any manner. I managed only to scream a few inappropriate curse words at her.

If I had been a witness to Ms. Darlings exemplary behavior, I wouldn't have been able to restrain myself and would have slammed my fist into her face a single time from an overhead position. I would have been guilty of battery. These people bring out the worst in us.
