Madison Cawthorn tries to disparage Sen. Mark Kelly's accomplishments

Just when you thought he couldn't be any more loathsome....

(Kelly retired from the Navy and the Space Shuttle program later in the same year that his wife, Gabby Giffords, received devastating injuries in an assassination attempt, after one final mission. He felt that he needed to be by her side to help her and support her recovery. I suppose Cawthorn, having thrown in the towel after less than a year of marriage, wouldn't understand that kind of devotion and commitment)..

...'In December 1987, Kelly became a naval aviator and received initial training on the A-6E Intruder attack aircraft. He was then assigned to Attack Squadron 115 (VA-115) in Atsugi, Japan, and made two deployments to the Persian Gulf on the aircraft carrier USS Midway, flying 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm. After receiving his master's degree, Kelly attended the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School from 1993 to 1994. He has logged more than 5,000 hours in more than 50 different aircraft and has over 375 carrier landings.[19]

Kelly has received two Defense Superior Service Medals; one Legion of Merit; two Distinguished Flying Crosses; four Air Medals (two individual/two strike flight) with Combat "V"; two Navy Commendation Medals, (one with combat "V&quot ; one Navy Achievement Medal; two Southwest Asia Service Medals; one Navy Expeditionary Medal; two Sea Service Deployment Ribbons; a NASA Distinguished Service Medal; and an Overseas Service Ribbon.[19][20]
......

He flew his first space mission in 2001 as pilot of STS-108, piloted STS-121 in 2006, and commanded STS-124 in 2008 and STS-134 in 2011, the final mission of Space Shuttle Endeavour.[6] His identical twin Scott Kelly is also a retired astronaut; they are the only siblings to have both traveled in space.[7][8]".....(much more.)

Actually get INTO the Navy as an officer instead of lying about getting into Annapolis.

A decorated career military officer, Moe Davis for Meadow’s seat. With his attack on Kelly, you can see how we Back the Troops here in WNC.

Mark and Gabby are friends, as many on DU know, and I wouldn't want anyone with cyber sleuthing skills to attach my true sentiments about Cawthorn to them, since they are better people than I am.

Suffice it to say that Cawthorn will never accomplish intellectually, much less physically, what Mark or Gabby has accomplished, and this includes inspiring a woman of Gabby's caliber (I knew her years before she was shot) to marry him.
