Rotten to the core. Absolutely rotten.
Far right majority on SCOTUS very clearly bought and paid for... how can this stand?

(19,192 posts)make the Kennedy family personally responsible for the "loan" when it goes into default - which with Trump at the helm is almost a certainty - and have every asset at their disposal become collateral. 😉

(21,286 posts)that another reason the loan was approved was because Putin's VTB bank covered the loan.

(19,192 posts)can be expecting a polonium sandwich if the loan goes into default? 😊 Sounds like a plan I could get behind.
No wonder all of Trump's meetings with Putin were in private, using only a Russian interpreter.

(4,552 posts)The right already failed. They lost the election and trump could not get the military to support his coup. Thank you Milley.
All they can do is try and control the message as the whole truth gets exposed.

(54,330 posts)Justin Kennedy may have thought his ass was covered by Vneshtorg Bank. Or maybe, he just wanted to think that. A bank can keep a loan it thinks is solid--"performing" as they put it-- on their books as an asset. It is a black mark on a bank officer if he authorizes a risky loan, and it reveals itself to be one the bank will never collect on. In that case, it is CYA time. No bank wants to delete a billion in assets from its books.
What is vital here is to find out WHAT VTB told Kennedy, and to what extent they were willing to put muscle behind their words. If VTB only said, "sure, that's OK, you can go ahead with that," and gave no further assurances and no guarantees, then Kennedy's ass (and Trump's) should be in the process of being sliced up and served to the Feds on a silver platter. If his father knew of this, and retired for this reason alone, it should be a father and son affair at the FBI.

(9,959 posts)Given that this Val Broeksmit reported this information to the FBI in 2019, we can assume that Barr buried it. Its now 2022 with a new AG, who has his hands full with the small matter of an insurrection against the US government, I wonder whether anything will ever be done with this part of Trumps corruption. Im sure Trump was careful not to threaten Anthony Kennedy in writing to force him to retire, but surely someone witnessed the threat.

(14,856 posts)A billion dollars? Ill say.
Say hello to your boy, Trump said, Special guy.
Your kids have been very nice to him, Kennedy replied.
Well, Trump said, they love him, and they love him in New York.
