Only Dem in my family. THIS is what I have to tolerate from brain-dead GQP relatives

How STUPID can you be to REFUSE to get vaxxed, then GET MAD at POTUS because you got infected with COVID? AND -- blame POTUS for not eradicating COVID -- WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY BEING AGAINST MANDATES AND VACCINE PASSPORTS? You can't have it both ways. If you refuse to get free and easily available vaccinations and don't like mandates, then COVID is going to continue. In fact refusing vaccination and being anti-mandate/vaccine passport is what has helped prolong it in the US. And that would be true no matter WHO POTUS is. This isn't about him.

The STUPID is ASTOUNDING. I'm complaining HERE because as the ONE Dem in my family, I'd lambasted if I expressed a political opinion to these dufuses. THEY can express theirs, but I am not allowed.

I am not ALLOWED to argue with them. Or even utter a peep of political anything to them. If I do, I get ganged up on, yelled at, insulted, etc. I don't bother. They can express their ignorant views with no holds barred.

I am not allowed, as the ONLY Dem in my family - to have or voice my political opinions. EVER.

you and your comments, won't even let you 'chat', 'respond', etc., let alone hold a decent and two-sided conversation. That's really a shame. I had this in my family, and I finally blew up, and said that I would never talk to them anymore since they would pretty well hijack the conversations, etc. I haven't regretted it one bit. And to be honest w/ you, they were shocked and amazed at how mad I was at their treatment of me (which figures since they don't pay attention to anybody else but themselves).

They're not worth your time. And if they ask why, don't even respond to them.

One of my sisters started going off on how "those people" were streaming in across the border bringing COVID. I told her to watch real news, not Fox and she hung up on me. That was in October, haven't talked to her since.

Work is so stressful right now I just can't deal with that bullshit.

Issue is my Mom lives with Trumper sister. Mom was a Dem before she got dementia. She doesn't talk about any of that now because she can't understand what's going on. If I want to talk to Mom I have to talk to sister. If I want to visit Mom, I have to go to sister's house. Which, right now I'm not doing because of COVID. They're all like "Well you might as well just go, Mom's gonna die of something one day anyway and everybody's gonna get COVID anyway so just go ahead and travel."

ME: NO. When Omicron dies down, maybe. Travelling right now is 100% chance you'll get it. Then, I'd be sick while at sisters, no place to isolate, end up exposing 94-year old mother and sister's husband (he's immune-compromised) to it. Yea, they have been vaxxed ("K" - sister's daughter - has not) - but COVID can KILL immune-compromised people (those with cancer, elderly, people with COPD like mom, etc.). They are under the misconception that it's like flu, mild, and even if you get sick so what and if it kills someone vaxxed but immune compromised in the family so what (yea, WTF?)

They want me to risk all that. NO!

Mom may slip away on me but goddammit if she does it will be because it was her time - NOT because I went there and infected her with COVID/Omicron. I'll live with the guilt of not having seen her before she went. I HAVE GOOD REASON not to. I don't want to KILL her before her time by infecting her with this shit. Vaxxed or not.

I knew there was a reason I have kept that button in my desk drawer these past 55+ years.....LOL

Oh, and if you want to stop some Republican's bluster, I just say the following:

"I quit paying attention to any politicians on either side......I just figure that all Politicians are corrupt". Period

It immediately takes the wind out of their sails, without exception, they think for a moment, say "You are probably right", and walk away....

It works every time.....try it
