More than half of Americans view right-wing militia groups as a threat to the U.S., with a third saying they pose an "immediate and serious threat" to the country, according to a poll from The Economist/YouGov.

The poll was taken following the first anniversary of the Jan. 6 insurrection, when Trump supporters stormed the Capitol in an effort to prevent Congress from certifying the results of the 2020 election. Members of known right-wing extremist groups including the Oath Keepers, the Proud Boys and the Three Percenters have been charged in connection with the attack.

The poll also found that 81 percent of those surveyed view domestic terrorism as a threat.

Sixty-six percent view right-wing militia groups as at least a minor threat, according to the poll, which surveyed 1,500 people in mid-January.

Now they need to also see the enablers as a serious threat and understand which political party is protecting democracy.

afraid of then come up with policy that nails that demographic. Kind of like Republicans and revived critical racial history and how they tied it to parents being unhappy at their kids not being in school these last years. Like beanie babies. When they came up with that, the concept was something that cost $5, that kids could be addicted too (and parents) and that could be placed near the checkout. The fact that they ended up being stuffed and baby and animals came later.

And we had a president who enabled that behavior and awakened the worst in people. We are in for some dark times ahead.

These people have been around forever. I remember a kkk March at our government building in the early 2000’s. Maybe 9 kkk people and hundreds of counter protestors. Fearing them only gives them power.

The Hell with The Hill.

(Number depends on which wording of the question you go with. "Domestic Terrorism" and "Right Wing Militias" are synonymous to me, but there may indeed be some other small domestic terror threats).
