For Trumpists trying to claim Putin sees Biden and Obama as weak and Trump as strong:
In that he seized Crimea and stoked war in Ukraine’s east during Obama’s term and is creating tension in Biden’s, but stood down during Trump, remember this:
Putin never bothered to invade Ukraine when one of his stooges—Yanukovych—was in charge there.
When the Ukrainian people rose up and overthrew Yanukovych, that’s when he went in. Not before.
He plays nice towards his stooges. Including Trump.
He thrives off tension and chaos when he’s dealing with adversaries. It gives him the excuse of “us versus the world” to his people so they don’t blame him for their problems. Hence that’s why he acts out when they are in charge.
That’s how it was with Putin and that’s how it will always be.
