I don't have much contact with right wingers

but today I had a work call with one.

He told me that he was SO GLAD he lived in a rural area, where he didn't have to deal with all the Covid bullshit. He just ignores it and so does everybody else. Nobody wears a mask, because they don't work anyway. And the hospitals are full, but those are all non-Covid cases. Poor folks had to wait to get their surgery because of all the nonsense about Covid. Covid is over.

He's a customer, so I didn't argue. What a different world he lives in.

ruralness of an area affects their mental abilities (degrades it).

This is, of course, not all of them, and a goodly portion of them are kind and decent people, with intelligence to boot.

But there some who, IMHO, live out there, in the rural parts of America, who wouldn't be able to survive anywhere else, simply because of their gutter mouth/constant mouthing off, generally just being lazy and drinking beer all day. Can't hold a job, and their domicile is close to falling inwards/all of the windows are broken, doors are broken, and there's all kinds of junk in the yard, etc. All of the surrounding neighbors avoid contact w/ them, and don't deal w/ them if they can avoid it.

I saw this quite a bit. They're the ones who'll do the odds and ends on a place if you have a place, but I don't trust any of them, so I don't/didn't hire out jobs to them. Two of them jumped one of my former neighbors one time, claimed that he owned them $ for a brush hogging job, and started beating him up/threatening him right in front of his young child. The former neighbor/guy managed to get his gun and shot one of them and the other hightailed it to his crappy mobile home down the highway (leaving his dead friend at the neighbors).

The police came and arrested the 2nd person who threatened the young man and his kid, and he ended up going to jail (being part of a felony got him his just reward, but still got his friend killed because of their ignorance). One thing about people like this, who represent the steamy side of rural life in America, usually they end up killing themselves over something stupid that they do to themselves. I've seen this too many times down there in rural America, so stay clear and protect yourselves and yours.
