Whoa there, @SenRickScott. You can back all the way off with this nonsense insulting our service members. Also, a military aware of bigotry, is a strong military.
This is a good time to remind folks that Scott also defrauded Tricare, which serves the military and their families.

Our military has become the woke military, not the lethal military. Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL)

(46,700 posts)I was raised on a military base. There were racist fathers there. Though, back then, most of them knew to be civil. I wish I knew what magic spell they were under. But, some of their beliefs must have rubbed off on their children.
This is a conversation from someone my age whose father was one of them:
"There is a desperate effort to rewrite and replace not just American history, but world history. Humanity has always been about tribalism. Consider warring tribes in Africa selling captured enemies as slaves, or the slaughter in Rwanda. In the same way radical Islam attempts to remove any evidence of past civilization or culture, today's leftists try to remove the successes and failures of the past to support their narrative today. Roosevelt took a lead role in changing yesterday's culture to further the idea that "all men are created equal", but with today's "woke" culture there is nothing from European ancestry that should be retained. Will see how far the leftist, racist, absurdity is driven. We will see barbaric acts, but we will see nothing new for humanity."
And:
The truth is that the complete subjugation of other cultures historically has been the norm in the human experience. Attempting to limit it to "Anglo" cultures ignores the warfare and subjugation by the native Americans of native Americans, Africans slaughtering and enslaving Africans, same with Asians, Aztecs, every culture known through history. What has been unique in the "anglo" culture is the idea that all are created equal. That American ideal of equality is truly unique in human history. Can the idea that is the United States actually be realized with humans? Will people be able to get beyond differences of skin color and ethnic origin and live together in peace? It has never happened for any length of time in human history. As long as some see every issue through the lens of skin color we will have racists. I remain hopeful and optimistic despite the overt racism we see today from all sides
