Ferraris, Maseratis, And Bentleys, Oh My

Geoffrey Eldridge Hull, 41, of Baldwin Hills, Calif., admitted to conning 128 people between 2016 and 2019 into handing over the keys to their leased Ferraris, Maserattis and Bentleys with promises that he’d find people to take over the leases, Instead, he would rent them out and pocket the money, prosecutors said.

In all, prosecutors say the victims were defrauded out of $1.56 million.

I mean, it seems like a person of average intelligence and not afflicted by greed to push things too far or too fast could very easily become ridiculously wealthy here by NOT doing the right things, but also doing the wrong things in moderation instead of with abandon.

I work a real job and have built a real career and yet scumbags like this guy or the Pharma bro or Jordan Belfort (Wolf of Wall Street criminal) have all cashed in for millions and with or without prison time, come out the back side with more wealth than I will EVER see or control.

Then I am subjected to those goddamn IRS forgoiveness comercials where tax cheats who owed upwards of $100,000 in unpaid taxes BRAG about settling for "pennies on the dollar" and "getting their lives back"....well, FUCK THEM!!! They did not make some "great deal" - they fuckign STOLE FROM ALL OF US by first not paying then claiming that full restitution would be too onerous and 'unfair', so they lawyered up and got a goddamn fire sale bargin and a clean slate.

Not having a good afternoon here....

I hope so...but I seriously doubt he does more than 3-5 years in playground federal prison instead of pound-you-in-the-ass super-max prison.

I have lost all faith in the rule of law since 2017. I really do struggle with remaining a law abiding citizen and positive, productive membe of society when so frequently I see criminals and frauds at all levels walk away with millions, receive small to non-existent sentences, then walk free without even being bankrupted by their own malfesceance.

Ah well...Monday PM is not ever a good time to think about this!
