Not sure I see what's wrong with a trained attorney using his knowledge and experience for himself, despite the "common wisdom" about representing oneself.

when your own ass is on the line you can't be objective enough to see the weaknesses in your own case and you will do dumb and desperate things. Even lawyers are people. Ted Bundy had attended law school for a year and knew just enough to screw up his own case.

But he's so sleazy and so unlikely to pay his bills that he probably couldn't hire a real lawyer anyhow. He'd consider it too much of a comedown to be represented by a public defender; and public defenders don't get paid enough to have to deal with asshats like him - the usual collection of drug dealers and mobsters would be more preferable clients because they'd at least listen to the legal advice being offered.

And it for parking illegally on the wrong side of the alternate-side-of-the-street during a blizzard. It was an easy win.

I wouldn't try this yourself Michael. If you lose, will you sue yourself for legal malpractice?
