Yet another strange Covid symptom as reported by a friend.

Overwhelming feeling of pins and needles in their entire head. Like when your leg or arm falls asleep, only the feeling is in their head. This is their most prominent symptom.

Friend is fully vaxxed and boosted. Doing reasonably well.

That was my thought, Harker. Nasal congestion can affect the inner ear, and balance. Martin68 Jan 2022 #14

Omicron hit a friend who I don’t see much in person anymore Hard. Several members of his family. Complete exhaustion was their main symptom.

We spoke on the phone for about 45 minutes yesterday. The call was enough to make them need to take a nap.

I used to deal with that in my legs almost daily and it's stopped since getting a wedge pillow to elevate my knees at night.

I would be really worried if I felt that in my head. I would definitely want a scan of some kind if it continued past 2 weeks.

so bad at times that just wearing my glasses is painful. I still feel 'icky' after testing positive more than three weeks ago.
I don't go out because I'm afraid that I may infect someone (but I'll work that out with my psychotherapist)

I have every intention to go out and do things and get too fatigued and need to lie down for a bit.

I do hope your symptoms clear up very soon! I'm hearing that the fatigue is what is really getting people down.

out of nowhere and continue for part of a day or several days.

I had some of the pins and needles in my scalp periodically. That was the most maddeningly painful thing. It would come on with no warning at all and nothing you could do made it moderate or stop even for a moment. I tried warm showers, skin cream, cold fresh, winter outdoor air and nothing helped. When that hits you cannot sleep, or think clearly, or watch TV or listen to music to distract yourself.

The surprising thing was my doctor didn't appear to have heard there could be an extended period of significant, post-COVID symptoms. That was almost as unnerving as having the pins and needles.

vaccine does nothing for with omicron. Thanks unvaxxed!

Kinda like the flu shot.

Sorry about your friend. Sounds like neuropathic pain. Hoping a gabapentin or something like it will be prescribed and help.

A coworker recently had altered sense of taste plus extreme flatulence and gas pain. Had covid test because of the taste issue, came back positive. She recovered with no other symptoms.

I don’t mind, though. They aren’t terribly loud and sometimes almost soothing, like being out on my porch on a warm summer evening.
