There should be no doubt that The White House was in the loop on this retirement.

The CNN headline "...giving Biden a chance to nominate a justice..." is bullshit. It isn't a chance. It is an opportunity and a done deal. And it will be quick.

We have the majority (even with Manchin and Sinema behaving poorly) and Biden certainly already knows who he will nominate from the top of his list. In my opinion, it will be a person of color and most likely a woman.

I am happy as long as she is young, liberal, and qualified which I am sure she will be.

Chance means the possibility of something happening. It was the wrong word to use. Does anyone think he isn't going to be able to replace him? It says something about the quality of journalism.

Maya Wylie and Sherilyn Ifel come to mind.

To have a woman of color on the bench will put the Conservative men on notice. Ole Clarence Thomas will not like having a Liberal African-American woman law scholar near him. Perhaps another retirement?

I can dream.

Your scenario seems very likely to me. Toxic masculinity is not restricted to white men only. And as his confirmation process proved, Thomas's masculinity is as toxic as it gets.
