Prediction (re: Manchin and Sinema and SCOTUS)

They are going to inevitably be asked about their support for a potential SCOTUS pick by Biden. They will probably say some formulation of being willing to consider whoever he nominates but refrain from unequivocally and unconditionally supporting anybody until they see who it is and "careful review of their record" before announcing their vote. In other words, they won't be outwardly obstructionist but won't pledge their unconditional support either. In short, until the hearings start and the nomination proceeds to a vote, we won't really know where they will stand on a final vote. Take it to the bank.

In fact, I expect them to be contacted within days if not hours for their position.

I wish the media would stop trying to destroy everything. I blame them for the two bills being screwed. Yep the senators played a part, but the media lit the match.

judicial picks. Biden is likely to nominate someone who Manchin and Sinema have already voted for in a previous judgeship. There is absolutely no reason to expect anything different now. The never ending doom and gloom gets real old.

Lower level Federal Judgeships are one thing, it being a SCOTUS appointment takes it to the next level. Of course, most of us would agree that it shouldn't be an issue if they've already approved them for courts in the past year, but Manchin and Sinema's behavior as of late throws a lot of things in doubt. Maybe everything will actually be fine, though.

The quote was:

"Whoever he puts up will have experience and we'll be able to judge them off of that. But as far as just the philosophical beliefs, no, that will not prohibit me from supporting somebody."
